Good morning, all! It's hard to believe that we are two weeks away from Spring Break! We have a lot to pack into the next ten days of school, so I decided to combine the two weeks' worth of information into one blog post.
What We Are Learning
Math: Comparing numbers within 100 using words and greater than, less than, and equal to symbols (<, >, =). After we complete unit five this week, we will be reviewing place value through a multi-curricular STEAM project that will involve designing, building, measuring and evaluating the value of a building created using base ten blocks.
Comparing Numbers "Quiz"
Comparing Number Values (use "whole numbers")
Science: This week, we will be finishing up our unit on plants. We will continue to research plants using digital tools, while evaluating needs and determining how plants compare and contrast to one another. Next week, we will be moving on to the animal portion of our "living things" science unit.
Plants
Animals
Reading: Until Spring Break, we will continue to read and learn from informational texts using text features. We will also be working on pulling out important information to summarize the texts that we read.
Reading Non Fiction
Using Text Features
Language: For the next two weeks, we will be reviewing many of the language concepts we have learned this year, including parts of speech, capitalization rules, and types of sentences. Our phonics patterns will be long i with "igh" and "oo".
