Hello! The fall weather has finally arrived!! Please be sure to send your child with some kind of light jacket, sweater, sweatshirt, etc... we had some chilly kiddos at recess today!
Here is a look at what we will be learning this week: ELA: the letter Ii, -am and -an welds ("ham", "tan", etc), using the "Lips the Fish" reading strategy (saying the first sound of the word), identifying narrative elements (characters, setting, plot), punctuation Writing: Creating personal narratives (thank you for all the pictures that have come in!!) Math: Greater, less, and equal to; counting to answer "how many?" questions; place value review Science: forces and motion (push, pulls, types of movement) Don't forget that we have our in-house field trip on Friday! It is also College Spirit Week this week. Stay tuned in Thursday papers for information on next week's Red Ribbon Week! :) Good morning! We have an exciting week ahead!! ELA: Letters Mm and Nn, sequencing stories to retell events, "Eagle Eye" reading strategy, sight words: "look", "at" Writing: Telling true stories (telling WHO, WHERE, and WHAT happened using pictures), labeling pictures, adding speech bubbles Math: Building teen numbers and showing place value (tens and ones) SS: Columbus Day, deciding "Should we celebrate Columbus Day?" Please note that we have a change to our daily schedule. Our lunch is now 11:40-12:10. We will sit at table 1 now.
