Happy Monday, everyone! This week is the start of a winding down for the first grade curriculum. For the rest of the coming weeks, we will be reviewing key concepts and touching on second grade skills to help prepare everyone for the upcoming year!
Here's what we are learning this week:
Math: Finishing Unit 6 (Geometry) and assessing skills, including: defining attributes versus non-defining attributes; comparing and contrasting 2D and 3D shapes; building pictures out of shapes; dividing shapes into halves and fourths; and determining equal parts

Shapes: A Geometry Game
Social Studies: We are continuing our economics unit, this week focusing on producers and consumers and spending versus saving
Economics Videos
Reading: Finding the central message of a fiction story- this is easy to practice at home by discussing what the character(s) learned over the course of the story to determine what we can also learn from the text.
Language: Using determiners, including articles and demonstratives; aw and au words
